Why, though? Like, cool, he can never be killed, as if that wasn't quite obviously a weakness he'd cover, and it's kind of him to show it off, I guess, but he could've stayed in the body that was just eaten and be able to do his thing anyway.

We'll get there. The most basic part of it is "more control over his powers". He gets better at dreaming after fully accepting his anger, I guess is what could be said.
